Why wouldn’t they be? Mumm-Ra isn’t going to just say “Oh, you guys got to the book first, you can have it.” If anything they are being hunted now more than ever.
I don’t mean Mumm-Ra will no longer be after the book. But “hunted” implies you don’t know where they are. I’m saying he no longer should have to search for them. Especially considering they seemed to have taken a break and stayed at the Tower for a little bit last episode.
If you can remove the episode completely from the storyline, and not disrupt the story arc, that I consider filler. By my definition, as I judge for myself, we have had 2, and now possibly a third.

How many of those can you find in the OS? I find many. People always compare the new and the old here (i see no reason why) then i could do aswell.
This isn’t the OS. We were told this would be a serialized show. One continuous story, like a really long movie. It hasn’t really been that.
OS had its share of filler, but to my mind, the beginning episodes were better paced.
So I still think the issue is pacing: where does the filler go. You have the luxury of filler if you have paced your story well, and so far, to my mind, that is one of the real issue with the episode arcs as we have seen them.
I will say it again: after the first 2 episodes, we needed two solid character development episodes, and more thought as to where and how they were going to find the found Tower of Omens, instead of two fillers.
After reading Hear the Roar, one wonders how the stories were contracted for this show.

There was a bucket load more filler in the OS than the NS. The characters really didn’t develop so much as they were utilized every so often to advance the episode’s plot IMO.
so far, some of the episodes have seemed like 2 minutes of exposition (usually Lion-O being whiney about something), 20 minutes of unrelated content, 2 minutes of exposition that somehow is supposed to be related to the first 2 minutes.
this formula makes some episodes feel like filler episodes because the bulk of the episode really isnt related to the overall plot or necessarily to the moral that is explored at the beginning of the episode. if the episodes were structured a little different, then they wouldnt feel like fillers at all. a little more obvious connection between the moral at the beginning and the main part of the episode would help

I did think it was funny in the flower people episode (I like to think of them as Liliads), the mutants showed the sign of the cats trail by fish bones. So maybe it would be good to skip the fish folk, neh

I’m not saying necessarily they’re filler or not. I’m just trying to look at both sides of the argument.
Last week in the crew of omens chat they said no episodes are filler.
But basing on what we have SO FAR a couple feel like filler… Why hello episode three.
Though, it’s still way to early to judge. The show is just finding it’s legs and what many are complaining about being “filler” today, may just be a key event that will be brought up or be involved in the future.
I’m just lol’ing at how this fandom keeps jumping to so many conclusions and ideas so EARLY.

That’s what makes me wanna drop this forum. People just jump to conclusions and comes up with crazy ideas, compares it to the OS and lots of other crazy stuff.
People clearly takes this to seriously, what ever they have said about it “feels like a movie” etc. It’s still a show airing on CN, first and foremost it is for kids.
They are called “stories” - shows used to have whole seasons of them.

After watching this eighth episode of the series and reading the comments in this thread I have opinions of my own to share. To those that imply that this is a filler episode I disagree with to a point. We learned about Lion-O’s fool hardy nature, and that he can be goaded into dangerous situations. That he is reckless and daring were other things to be gleaned from this episode. Lion-O showed determination in that he is not easily defeated and that he is not demoralized by major set backs. All of these help paint the picture of Lion-O’s personality.
Episode eight served to define who Lion-O is as an individual. This helps to further enrich character development and keep the storyline interesting. Without scenarios like the one in this episode the characters become flat and uninteresting. Perhaps there will be an opportunity to elaborate on the other characters… Lion-O sure is getting his (un)fair share of screen time!
My biggest issue is that some of the eps in the OS would contradict each other. :rolleyes:
