The playsets are intriguing, absolutely…but the new figures look like they come from a fast food kids meal set. Lion-O’s figure looks like some sort of armor suited clown. Part of that is the character design, but I really don’t find that 3.75" Lion-O to be very show accurate. Not enough for me to not get the line, but I’ve got to say there’s a pretty big wave on this page of “ehhhh” when it comes to these new figs. Its not really up to us to be pleased with what Bandai is offering, its up to Bandai to make figures we like and can get into.

The new pictures on tni show the new series’ figures with the ThunderCat logo instead of just a red circle. Also, the images show a major size difference between left and right hands and feet on the figures, so it is quite possible that the “big hands” look is really an optical illusion of the camera angle/distance from the figure.
The tank and Tygra look AWESOME! Cannot wait for the Toyfair display this weekend and see what else Bandai will show!
Not bad but the proportions are weird. The emblem is huge and the eyes are puny lol
I’m excited for the new toys as well. I am a little disappointed in the new tank though. It looked from the packaging prototype art seen earlier that Snarf was the only character that could fit in the drivers seat/**** pit of the Thundertank, and this photo seems to confirm that. I was really hoping that the new Thundertank would hold several of the four inch action figures (after all, what’s the point of making them so small if it’s not so they can have scale vehicles and playsets). Even the old school 80’s tank could hold one driver and one character manning the cannon i the back. It’s kinda lame the new tank will be piloted by Snarf.
I think the back opens up like the original, but the new one can hold multiple figures back there. Also, I thought I saw an image somewhere that there is 2 front sections; the one where Snarf sits, and one under that that a ThunderCat can be pilot. Plus the paws/front wheels can each hold one of the bikes, which I am guessing can carry a figure on it while in the paw.

Ok so I must admit the more I see the Thundertank the more I am actually liking it.

Someone said Lion-O looked like an armoured clown and this had me thinking- every time I see the character design for Lion-O, drawn, action figure or otherwise, he looks like he’d fit better either on Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy. His overall design just screams Sora.

Wow! So far there are 24 pages in this thread! I’m so damn glad Thundercats are back! I thought things were hot when the Wildstorm comics were current. That is like spitting into the ocean now.
Now that is ancient…I got into the fandom waaay back in 2003- 2004…when GeoCities was cool! Anyone remember GeoCities?
Jaga…now that is a character that is so iconic and so big that has yet to be mentioned, shame on them! I’m shocked that Grune has made it into the new series without Jaga (not that I mind…I love the bad Thundercats…we need more…RECRUIT!, RECRUIT!" whispers…bring in Lynxana!…gotta have a bad girl!)
Anyways, So far I like the new tank…just not too keen on the pic of Snarf in the driver’s seat…I can’t go back several pages back on this thread about it…I do have that rotten thing to deal with called real-life that loves to get into the way. But either way, I hope it’s just for the packaging that Snarf is driving the tank. Seriously…can we really see Panthro in the Barbie seat while Snarf is driving the Thundertank?
Even my own husband looks at me funny if I go anywhere near the driver’s side while together

hi doubt Lynxana will be in the new series unless warner bought the rites of marvel to use her since she was a marvel comics character
Not sure if this was mentioned but my distributor sent me pics of a Jaga and Jackalman Staction.
Very doubtful that matters; there was almost certainly a clause in the contract saying any original characters belonged to Rankin/Bass/Lorimar/whoever owned the rest of the rights.
That said, it’s still unlikely we’ll see her; she’s an obscure character who wasn’t on the original cartoon. I think she’s got a good hook and I’d LIKE to see her, but I doubt she’s a priority.

The Classic Lion O look awesome. Prob the nicest out of them all. Not so keen on the new series figs although the trailer is extremely well put together and scripted. Well not larry and the new team!
