Some of the MOTUC SDCC figures were not exactly crazy prices…at least the first few months after release. I guess it will depend on how many Mattel make and how many scalpers want to take advantage of it.
I am still amazed Mattel never made a MOTUC figure called ‘Scalpor’ or ‘Scalper-Man’ as a tribute to the people who have kept the MOTUC line in business for so long. :roflmao

Yeah, trying to track down someone myself. I have no issues paying a ‘finders fee’ since I can’t be there and I’m paying for someone’s time and effort to do me a solid. Ebay prices worry me for these, though. I expect them to get stupid.
EDIT - I say this then immediately check Ebay. Multiple listings for $130+…
I think the packaging is really nice. It could do without the crappy pic of Lion-O’s eyes on the front, but the rest is great.
I really can’t get my head around their system for this though. 2 rounds of early booking for those going to SDCC, with the subscribers going first. What’s the point? If anyone going to the con can book before, it won’t matter if you have a sub or not, unless there is a chance of them selling out? Why they don’t have pre-booking for attendees, then 2 lots of mail order after the con, subscribers first, then everyone else, I have no idea. Right now there is such a small section of subscribers who are given the illusion of having an advantage in getting these, they really don’t. Anyone going to the con will be able to get them, as long as they pre-book. Everyone not going, subscriber or not, runs the risk of them selling out before they get there order in.
They could always make more. I’m sure they want money, no? These made-to-order figures are low-risk from the perspective of the buyer and the seller. Everyone wins. No excess inventory.
These SDCC specials aren’t made to order though, they will have an amount produced and some will go away empty handed if they lose out to scalpers. Matty may make more later, but this isn’t guaranteed. Matty definitely wins and will sell every one they make. Subscribers will possibly miss out, unless they go to the con in person.
No more bad ideas of action figure.
We already saw the release of that purple figure just to make a figures to sell… It was so generic. It looked like a purple kind of ninja…
You have to admit Scalpor is a better idea than some they did make like Mighty Spector, Fearless Photog, Castle Greyskullman, Fighting Foe Men etc. But yeah Mighty Spector was the absolute worst in the entire line.
Worst line up of figures in years… I think they competed in creating the most useless figure possible. Having a bible with so rich of character and you waist figures on what ever…
