Pumyra or Cheetara?

I voted for Pumyra. I feel that in just two episodes she’s become a lot more interesting than Cheetara. I really wish they would do more with Cheetara. She seems to lack strong motivation or conflict. Panthro doesn’t have much, but at the very least he has a lot of history and gets plenty of great lines. It just feels like Cheetara lacks her own story outside of her relationship with Tygra.

Well if Tygra voted for Cheetara she will win because Lion-o can’t beat Tygra.

That’s debatable. I don’t think Lion-O has tried to beat Tygra because he doesn’t want to hurt his brother, much like how he didn’t hurt Pumyra.

Oh, and Pumyra could kick Tygra’s sorry little non-existent tail back to Thundera.

As much as I ship Cheetygra… Pumyra. As a character, she got much more character development in 2 episodes than Cheetara did in all of the series.

In fact, all of the main protagonists save Cheetara there’s been a focal episode to them or enough background exposition has been spread throughout multiple episodes:

Lion-O - he’s the main character, if you haven’t seen any background by now, I wonder if we’re even watching the same show.

Tygra - “Native Son” is his episode, plus anytime he and Lion-O have had a big fight we always get insight on HIS perspective.

Wily Kit/Kat - “Survival of the Fittest” was their episode, much can be said about their motivation and plight from the two main flashbacks we had with them.

Panthro - Though he doesn’t have an episode, much can be said about his character through his relationship with Grune. The same can be said with Dobo. We still don’t know much about what he was before he became a General though, aside from that one scene where he was fighting a war with Grune.

Pumyra - With what she had to go through, her actions seem for the most part justifiable.

In addition, we also get to see each of these characters face their inner demons. All we see of Cheetara is fight, advise Lion-O, provide exposition when the plot demands it and be a tease. Sure she wants to guide Lion-O on his journey, but what are her personal motivations? What made her specifically pursue the clericship?

Regarding the flower scene: In Cheetara’s defense, she came from nothing. Especially after being rejected once, any form of encouragement would have been appreciated. And while Tygra might come across as somewhat stalkerish by his behavior, he’s also an outcast kid himself -he sympathized with her as he knows what its like to not be able to get something he wanted.

I agree with you on everything exept three points.

We don’t know if Cheetara actually came from nothing because we still don’t have much backstory on her. Maybe in this verse she is the daughter of master thievs and ran away because she didn’t want to live a life of crime or maybe she came from a wealthy mechant family who were attacked causing her to be seperated? All speculation yes, but what I’m trying to say is we still don’t have much of any backstory on Cheetara.
(Not to start a shipping war) How do you figure Tygra to be an outcast kid? He had the favor of the king above Lion-O, he had the favor of the Court above Lion-O, he had the favor of the military above Lion-O, he had the favor of the female cats in the kingdom above Lion-O, and he had the entire kingdom want him to be King over Lion-o all as we saw in Ep 1. I just can’t get my head around the idea that Tygra was an outcast when he was loved by everybody. As we saw in “Native Son” he blames Lion-O for the death of the Queen which is in no way Lion-O’s fault and he also blames Lion-O for stealing the crown from him which again, Lion-O had no control over what-so-ever thus it was Tygra’s own petty jealousy and insecurities that isolated him but it was also the same petty jealousy and insecurities that caused him to be loved over Lion-O becuase those feelings drove Tygra to always prove he was better than Lion-O at everything.
Tygra might have wanted the crown and sword but the fact is he didn’t deserve them. Lion-O has been shown to the the nobler of the two and I just figured the noble heart would win. I’m not trying to say Tygra is a “bad guy,” he does have noble qualities to him but (and this is just my opinion based on what I see so again, no shipping wars please) those qualities are overshadowed by his faults. The way Cheetara has been portrayed, it just seems to me like she would be more inclined to the brother who is purer of heart.

I look at that picture and all I can picture is Panthro walking away seconds before adjusting his pants and spraying some Febreeze while commenting that he feels 10 pounds lighter.
