That’s wonderful news, Chris! I’m glad you got a third cat for Louis and Toby. And I’m not surprised that they kicked up a fuss at the newcomer. As a rule, established cats do that when another is added. I should know; I went through that myself. Unless the established cats show a real ugly resentment toward the new one, they usually settle down and accept him/her.:cheetaraveryhappy:

I just looked at your photo of Louis, Toby, and Thomas. How beautiful they are! I should also tell you that Oriental breeds like the Balinese and Siamese cats tend to be quite “talky”, so brace yourself for a considerable amout of meowing in the future!:cheetaraveryhappy:

Whilst I would emphasise that the news about Louis is not really news but just educated conjecture, nonetheless we were half-expecting to no longer have him by now, so, every day is a bonus! Hopefully he will prove the experts wrong and stick around for a while!
Oh believe me, I know, LOL! Louis & Toby are only semi-talkative at the moment, but Thomas is very, very vocal, which is lovely! Before these we had two more Balinese cats, who we got in 1987 - we lost Willow when he was aged 8 to sudden kidney and liver failure, but Dusty (a.k.a. Doris, even though he was a boy!) carried right on until last year, a couple of weeks shy of his 19th birthday! Doris used to actually have proper vocal conversations with you, and could actually “say” few words - he had separate meows for “Yes” and “No”, and could say “Chrissy” (my name)!

Is Thomas the one with the darker brown? Balinese cats are bred from the Siamese ones, and Thomas looks like he leans a bit more toward his Siamese heritage, which might explain why he vocalizes more than Louis or Toby.:cheetaraveryhappy:

Oops, sorry.:duh: So it’s Louis who may be leaning toward the classic Siamese brown. Thomas looks like he could be Toby’s twin – which is why you named him Thomas? It’s a Greek name meaning “twin”.:cheetaraveryhappy:

No problem - even we are starting to get confused, LOL!
That’s a fascinating fact there - I didn’t know that! We actually named him Thomas just because we liked the name and also because we thought it went well with the names Louis & Toby (so, “Louis, Toby & Thomas”, “Louis & Thomas”, “Toby & Thomas” - you get the idea!). Also, one of my guilty secrets is that I’ve always been a big fan of Thomas the Tank Engine, so that’s another reason why I like the name Thomas! :oops:
