Possible Super 7 ThunderCats line

I will check it out that video when I get home from work…

Thanks, I completely forgot about that.

Hey guys! Been a long time since I last posted, but life gets in the way sometimes and TC has to take a backseat sadly. With the recent preorders that went up for the 2 lines over at S7, there’s been talk again about how it would affect TC if it were to actually join the lineup. Personally I hope when it does that there’s a bit more spacing between the subs (call it what you will I guess) so that everybody can buy in. Otherwise I worry that one of the lines might fail, and I don’t want it to be TC. With that in mind, I went back to my original post from earlier in the year and spiced up what I hope we would eventually see from S7. What do you guys think of this lineup? I kept the “core” lot in the first 2/3 waves in case they only decide to stick with those. I only thought we’re all (ok, some) so stuck on Jaga and Grune being the first two out in the next line, that S7 might surprise us and use a bigger name to pull us in - like MUMM-RA THE EVER LIVING of course… I hope that we’ll see something like this in the future. Personally, should S7 announce they have the license, I think we’ll only preorder some time in Jan/Feb next year to see the figures arrive in May/June/July and then again Oct/Nov/Dec. I added con exclusives in so that we could get more characters out. Ideally I would have loved a Jaga & Grune 2 pack where you can get a different TC-head for Grune with bots tusks, and some how a way to have him wear the TC symbol. And maybe an “old” face for Jaga and a younger face. That way they can rebrand this as a Young Jaga and Grune as well as an old Jaga and evil-Grune.

 So you guys still have high hopes, eh? I’ve officially given up hope and consider the Thundercats franchise dead.

I like your choice of waves.

Sadly, I agree.

I’m not surprised some of you agree that the franchise is dead. If you look at all the facts it does seem so. There are however a glimmer of hope I’m holding on to - and also everybody else who does have hope it will continue; and that is that Super 7 has not said NO as of yet. I truly believe that if they couldn’t get the license that they would not let those of us who want it to continue in the dark of their decision or outcome of the WB license. Their constant teasing about it, and these three things make me think that the future is still bright:

  1. The latest video by S7 had that tease of “Thundercats” flashing in the corner. I doubt that they would be so vile as to tease us knowing they’ve lost the license if they had. Brian seems like a very pleasant guy, as are the other S7 staff I and friends have dealt with.
  2. According to TNN (or was it PixelDan?) we’ll have news at SDCC about the future of TC.
  3. They’ve wanted it even before they got the MOTUC license.
We all know that there are other factors influencing them getting it. All of that aside, I truly believe that the delay is also caused by their first MOTUC releases. I doubt we’ll see any figures until mid to late next year, but I think we’ll learn of the fate of TC in July. Until there has been a big fat NO from S7, I still have hope. If they then decline it, I will gladly accept (and call Booshman to start customising the rest of the gang). :cheetara:mummra:snarf:slithe:vultureman:tygra:mamutt:rataro

I’m still optimistic that the line will continue. There’s really no reason why S7 wouldn’t just announce that they couldn’t get the license if it was dead in the water. Especially with how much they joke on being asked about Thundercats.

I’m still hopeful the line re-materializes but I’m not holding my breath. Super7 is taking a huge leap with MOTU and even giving fans more figures people are still complaining at every turn. Where are my figures? Prices are too high! Shipping sucks! And so on. While I think the rather frequent mentions by Brian lean toward the fact that things are moving, I really wonder if it will last. MOTU Classics are now $35 each and there are decidedly more MOTU fans than TC, I think we can agree on that. I wonder if the figures would be able to survive at that price or even if they can make them for that, considering WB’s odd stance on how they license this out. Again I’m hopeful but I don’t really think about it anymore to avoid getting hyped again.

confirmed. DEAD.

Here’s the link for people wanting official confirmation.
Super7 is not being given the rights to Cats…fuck

What a bunch of bullshit. They tried so I won’t blame them, obviously they wanted to move forward. Both Mattel for starting something they had no interest in finishing, and WB for unrealistic licensing should be ashamed of themselves and the way they have treated people eager to spend money on their property. Way more obscure brands are getting a lot more produced than ThunderCats, so the problem isn’t us.

So we are left with YET ANOTHER unfinished line, and it isn’t even compatible with the prior line. Should another opportunity arise, I say we should be very vocal about demanding a commitment to the core cast being completed before anyone is willing to buy the same characters yet again.

This is why I was very cautious because I know very well the dick games corporations play. There is no care for the humanity of any process or decision.

Mattel will never get another dollar from me.

Everyone…
It’s been brilliant dreaming of a new line but at least it’s now been confirmed that it won’t be happening.
Sad and I feel as this may be the end of thundercats figures…maybe forever!
I think everyone needs to be thankful that we could buy the bandai figures in retail shops which took us back to our youth.
It’s been a pleasure speaking to you all over the years but this seems to be the end…

This sucks.
We could try to start a petition or online communication to WB to ask then if they’d reconsider. What do we have to lose?

Super disappointed. Why??? It makes no sense. Whatever.

Probably just lose time. No point as companies like WB only think about $$$s and not us small time customers.

You may be right, but a few minutes isn’t that much.
:slithe

that’s a bummer, was looking at this line with anticipation.

I will do whatever it takes. I will certainly be voicing displeasure to Mattel and WB through viable channels - Facebook, email, etc. I suggest everyone do the same. Even if it is annoyance to them, it makes a point. We have to be willing to put in the work because they aren’t.

I’d really like to know what exactly WB are waiting for or holding out for? The time is now. At the very least not finding a way to get a Tygra and a Cheetara to market someway is really crappy. Mattel knew their plans for Matty Collector when they started TCats. It’s a slap in the face. And then the line was shortened two figures due to their crappy production and logistics timelines. You could call it cruel.

I’m not surprised at all. Bummer for you guys that really wanted the line. I’m not really a fan of Super7 and their nostalgia-driven business approach, so I’m not really fussed about not giving them my money.
