I just don’t know about this. I mean, two ThunderCats statue lines running at the same time? I fear that the competition between the two could result in lower demand for both. Some people may stop buying the Hard Hero line so they can get the Pop Culture Shock line. Others (myself included) may skip the Pop Culture Shock line since they already have several of the Hard Hero Line.

I for one can not see myself buying statues much more frequently than Hard Hero is releasing them. Since I already have Lion-O and pre-ordered Cheetara and Mumm-Ra, I am going to be dedicated to the Hard Hero Line.

But, if the stars line up right, I would consider the Pop Culture Shock ones as well, depending on what they look like (only seen Lion-O’s backside so far), how much they cost, and the frequency they will be released. I think I heard somewhere an estimate of $400.00 each, and if that’s the case, it would have to be one very good looking statue per year for me to consider it in addition to the Hard Hero ones at only $200.00 every 3 months.

Personally, I would have liked it better had the PCS line been announced around the time the HH line ends its run. Less competition between similar ThunderCats products, and easier for collectors to buy both lines. That would have given both statue lines more customers, resulting in more money for both companies and royalties to Warner Brothers, and the ability to add more items to a collection over a long time.

But I would not be against WB for giving the license to multiple companies at once if their products wouldn’t be in direct competition and only one of them would be an expensive item/line. For example, the HH statues and something like a ThunderCats video game or soundtrack from the TV series or wall art.

I totally agree with your point of view. It’s good seeing Thundercats products after so many years but why such a rush bringing them out simultaneously? PCS should have waited after HH finished its line.

Well put, I agree that would have been a good way to continue the license.

But looks like WB is testing the waters, by granting licenses in a short duration to observe potential demand and revenue.

The action figure license will be a huge deal in terms of marketing and profits, that is if they intend to tie-in with the TCats movie license.

I do hope this is a good sign of things to come. Let’s hope that if there is a toy line, that it does not get plagued by the issues the MOTU Classics is facing.

Something I would like to see made is a stained glass window/sun catcher of the ThunderCats insignia. Now that would be a spiffy item to have.

I tend to follow my gut and even without the rock base its 34" so whats another 4" at that point ?

If someone is going to buy it at 34" they will but it at 38".

I feel the taller rock base really gives it a grand feel and will make it a centerpiece in peoples collections.

However, the rock base has been revised to be smaller in circumference…not in height.

If i am not mistaken this Lion-O statue captures the scene from the very begining of the opening intro where Lion-o is standing on top of a rock holding the sword of omens straight up,it is in the 0:08 second. The new “huge” statue seems good so far but i beleve it’s too early to make any comment,anyway i like this latest photo as well. I guess the most probable release date will be around Christmas?

Im pretty settled on the EX and its not Snarf.

ES is still being discussed…prob similar to Guile. Also Thundercats ES does not fall under the limitations I set for Street Fighter. Its its own thing

Recently, i e-mailed PoP Culture Shock for the release date of Lion-o, they said he would be up for pre-order early in August at Sideshow’s Collectible site. So i guess he will be available around September, the same time when Mumm-Ra is released by HH.

I am eager to see the final picture…
