I think that’s why I started the ROCKS and Movie Club threads, in an attempt to encourage other common tastes, and share each other’s interests.
That’s what some people hate about the original series ;
Overly slow and too bland dialogue.
The biggest problem with the original was the over-reliance on the catchphrase as a fix-all. OK, so we want to hear Lion-O say those words, but by the end, we just knew that the minute those five words left his lips, that was game over, whatever magic was needed to save the day, the sword would do it just like that.
that’s what I kept sayin’ , his voice sounds cringe worthy.
the bigger problem with willa is she kind of always sounded like an old lady. at least to me.
I’ve noticed that Panthro’s voice bordered between nasally and gravelly.
That’s what happens when you only have one woman in the cast to do all the female voices. She’s already put on an English accent for both Willa and Nayda (well, they are sisters so she could hardly do different accents, this isn’t Frasier after all!), and for good measure, as Willa is the queen, she’s trying to sound regal for her, as well as trying to make her sound tough. That’s a tricky proposition. To put on a foreign accent (well, foreign to her, not to me!) and overlay both toughness and regality is a big ask of anyone.
At least they got another actress for Pumyra.
and she does a good job. the actress also does Chilla, Jagara, the guardian of the sound stones and a few others.
