Actually, there’s the problem. While he started swimming while invisible in “Fireballs of Plun-Darr”, Tygra lost his bolo whip when he was still in the water, and kept swimming as if nothing happened.

Ha. Well, it was sort of a piss-poor explanation to begin with in my opinion. How would turning invisible suddenly allow someone to swim if they couldn’t normally?

The show did make an attempt to explain why Tygra was swimming in “Fire-Balls of Plundarr” but unable to in “Safari Joe”. It makes no sense if you really think about it, but Mule says specifically re: Tygra - “Weakness, except when he’s invisible, Tygra cannot swim.” Again I say, it makes no real sense, but I think the line was only thrown in there to expain Tygra’s swimming ability in the previous episode (where he was also invisible the whole time he was swimming).

Yes it’s very weird. What’s more weird is Tygra not even trying to turn Invisble against SJ. This was never explained either

I think it could tie in to Tygra’s shyness. Maybe a mental tick about being watched makes it hard for him to swim out in the open.
