Yes, that is exactly the sound I was talking about. I had to watch the Circus Train clip three times to make sure they weren’t just late with that little fanfare - because the rest of the “usual” music is still there. I’m still pretty sure “Bracelet Of Power” is unique in not having completely different music for it though!
Correct. For some reason that little song got stuck in my head the other day.
Huzzah, I just watched it the other day so it was fresh in my mind.
OK, here’s one from Sword in a Hole, since it features Captain Shiner, one of my faves.
What is the full name of the AI that refuses to allow Lion-O, Panthro, Snarf and Captain Shiiner to leave the black hole? That’s full name and not just the acronym.
NEPTUNE stands for the “Navy Engineers’ Power Tower Under Nuclear Energy” - a legitimate candidate for the dodgiest acronym I have ever heard! Anyone who can pass an acronym like that is a “complete utter nonsense talker”.
Correct. Yeah, they definitely came up wit Neptune first and then struggled to work out what it stood for.
OK, my turn to think of a question again - after getting three on the bounce the other week, it seems like quite a gap! Oh well, I can’t think of a really good one to make people stop and think so here’s an easy one:
What four things were needed to free Ta-She from the Timewarp Prison?
I, too, know the key!
- A tuft of hair from a cheetah
- A Berbil’s tear
- A shoe from an enchanted unicorn
- A hero to take Ta-She’s place in the Time Warp Prison
When I was four years old I drew a horribly illustrated version of “The DoomGaze”, complete with a gangly Man-of-War Cloud and a defeated Ta-She screaming, “I only wanted to be freeeeee!” I’ll try and dig it up the next time I visit my parents’ basement. ![]()
A Berbils tear, Cheetara’s hair, and a unicorn shoe?
Edit: Bollox, too slow, and I only listed 3 things, doh!
Holy phuck with a ph, that was fast! I know it was an easy one, but still - wow!
All correct! Your turn zax!
Ha, I didn’t realize until now how soon it was after you posted that I answered. I just got up this morning, checked the forum over breakfast, and there was your question waiting to be answered!
Sticking with the DoomGaze theme…
What is depicted on the sail and the underside of Ta-She’s prison ship?
This one is up for a bit of interpretation, but part of what’s depicted is clear-cut.
From memory its a triangle, two ractangles and a squiggly line. I guess it’s Mumm-Ra’s onyx pyramide with 2 obilisks, correct?
It is the Pyramid, yeah! I like to think that the squiggly line represents the water in Mumm-Ra’s cauldron. As Mumm-Ra talks to Ta-She, his voice is represented by a purple glow in the sky, the same purple as the cauldron water. Maybe the Time Warp Prison is actually only accessible via the cauldron.
Anyway, those are just personal musings. You’re up, thunderianroyalguard!
Okay! Drum roll…
When looking at the shows credits, you’ll see that there are 2 names of real-life people that were used for two characters in the series.
So, for the correct and complete awnser:
The names of the people, the names of the characters as they are called in the cartoon, and just for the heck of it, the episodes in which the 2 characters appear.
Good luck!
:liono
GREAT QUESTION!
The names you’re looking for are a couple of the Japanese animators. If I’m not mistaken:
Minoru Nishida lent his name to Nishida, Hachiman’s great uncle (Thundercats HO!)
Masaki Izuka “became” Izuka the water spirit, or something like that (Helpless Laughter)

Very quick on the draw, LiamABC! You are 100% correct, Sir! You’re up!

Thanks! It’s one of those details that I just noticed when I saw them - and when you factor in that I only saw season 2 a couple of times when I borrowed a friend’s box set about 4yrs ago (although I do have Thundercats Ho on VHS) I’m even more amazed.
OK, a question. Hmm, OK. An easy one again:
What is the checklist for starting the Thundertank?
Reactor engaged, traction locked, all go!
Word perfect, Zax! Your turn!
Some expert knowledge on display here. The question before last was particularly tough.
I whole-heartedly agree with you Booshman. While I’m still trying to figure out the answer to one question, the game has already moved forward three questions! LOL!
We have some very impressive TCats experts here. ![]()
