Game: ThunderCat Trivia

Fun! I’m going to limit myself to minor characters, to increase the challenge.

Turmagar
Hurrick (the Bolkin)
Unicorn Keeper
Nayda
Dirge
Ecology Inspector
Ratilla
Charr-Ninn
Arietta Bird
Torr
Safari Joe

Well done, “Zax”! You got all correct. The letters “U” and “E” are the difficult ones as I could only think of two answers for each.

Your turn, sir!

Oh! I misunderstood the question! I thought you were asking for one character whose name included all of the letters in “Thundercats” lol. I was breaking my brains in that! Well, my bad.

Tell me about it! What other U and E answers had you thought of?

As for a new question, how about this:

Which episodes feature birds? Vultureman doesn’t count.

Tygra Rules: When I re-read the question, I realized that it could easily also be interpreted in the way that you did. I should have phrased it better. Sorry about that.

Zax: The only other ones I could think of were E = Enflamer and U = Under Earth People.

I’ll take a shot at answering your question:

  1. Terror of Hammerhand - Crow who steals the sword
  2. Mandora Evil Chaser - Vultures who are circling above the tied Mandora and Quickpick.
  3. The Crystal Queen - Arietta Bird
  4. Snarf Takes Up The Challenge - Woodpecker
  5. Mandora and the Pirates - Polly the Parrot (I don’t know if this counts since the bird is a robot. If it doesn’t, then just ignore this answer, if it does, then please also consider the other episodes featuring Cracker as well like “Exile Isle” and “Cracker’s Revenge”.)
  6. Evil Harp of Char-Nin - Snake Bird (again not sure if it is more of a snake or more of a bird)
  7. Secret of the Ice King - Pterodactyl (another doubtful answer)

These are all I can think of. If I rack my brain anymore, I’ll go “cuckoo”!

In Latin, Inflamer starts with an I.

The Snake Bird in “Evil Harp of Charr-Ninn” (and by extension the winged water snakes in “Trouble with Time”) I’m not going to count. They’re more snakes with wings than birds with scales. All your other ones count, though, including the Pterodactyl. Birds, dinosaurs—same thing.

But there are still a few more episodes—six by my count. Let’s make a list, and see if other folks can fill in the blanks.

  1. Terror of Hammerhand - Thieving crow
  2. Mandora Evil Chaser - Bloodthirsty vulture (and birds that Lion-O flies into)
  3. The Crystal Queen - Arietta Bird
  4. Snarf Takes Up The Challenge - Woodpecker
  5. Mandora and the Pirates - Polly
  6. Exile Isle - Polly
  7. Cracker’s Revenge - Polly and _________
  8. Secret of the Ice King - Pterodactyls

It’s okay. We’re all a little cuckoo. If no one else chimes in in a couple of days, I’ll post the remaining episodes and you can post the next question.

That’s what I used to think until I saw a few websites spell the name with an “E”. BTW, your comment immediately reminded me of “Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade”.

Oh I forgot to add one more episode. I had it in my head when I was brainstorming but forgot to type it. So am adding it here.

  1. Terror of Hammerhand - Thieving crow
  2. Mandora Evil Chaser - Bloodthirsty vulture (and birds that Lion-O flies into)
  3. The Crystal Queen - Arietta Bird
  4. Snarf Takes Up The Challenge - Woodpecker
  5. Mandora and the Pirates - Polly
  6. Exile Isle - Polly
  7. Cracker’s Revenge - Polly and _________
  8. Secret of the Ice King - Pterodactyls
  9. Lion-O’s Anointment Trial: Day 1 - the bird that Lion-O uses to cross the Acid Lake.

Merged Post:

Does “Zaxx” count? The cartoon version, not you, the real life version.

  1. Terror of Hammerhand - Thieving crow
  2. Mandora Evil Chaser - Bloodthirsty vulture (and birds that Lion-O flies into)
  3. The Crystal Queen - Arietta Bird
  4. Snarf Takes Up The Challenge - Woodpecker
  5. Mandora and the Pirates - Polly
  6. Exile Isle - Polly
  7. Cracker’s Revenge - Polly and _________
  8. Secret of the Ice King - Pterodactyls
  9. Lion-O’s Anointment Trial: Day 1 - the bird that Lion-O uses to cross the Acid Lake.
  10. The Circus Train (Capt. Bragg’s bird Crownan)
  11. Return to Thundera Part 4 (Crownan)
  1. Terror of Hammerhand - Thieving crow
  2. Mandora Evil Chaser - Bloodthirsty vulture (and birds that Lion-O flies into)
  3. The Crystal Queen - Arietta Bird
  4. Snarf Takes Up The Challenge - Woodpecker
  5. Mandora and the Pirates - Polly
  6. Exile Isle - Polly
  7. Cracker’s Revenge - Polly and _________
  8. Secret of the Ice King - Pterodactyls
  9. Lion-O’s Anointment Trial: Day 1 - the bird that Lion-O uses to cross the Acid Lake.
  10. The Circus Train (Capt. Bragg’s bird Crownan)
  11. Return to Thundera Part 4 (Crownan)
  12. Garden of Delights - when Tygfra first met Silky underground and he tastes the fruit, a bird passes flying above him.

Great additions, everyone! It’s been a few days, so I’m going to complete the list.

Also, I think I’m going to recant my pooh-poohing of the snake-bird from Evil Harp of Charr-Ninn. It’s the same bird from the opening sequence of Garden of Delights, which was on my list originally, and it is far more bird-like than the winged water snakes.

So, here’s the complete list:

  1. Terror of Hammerhand - Thieving crow
  2. Mandora The Evil Chaser - Bloodthirsty vulture and birds that Lion-O flies into
  3. The Crystal Queen - Arietta Bird
  4. Snarf Takes Up The Challenge - Woodpecker
  5. Mandora and the Pirates - Polly
  6. Exile Isle - Polly
  7. Cracker’s Revenge - Polly and Crownan
  8. Secret of the Ice King - Pterodactyls
  9. Lion-O’s Anointment First Day: The Trial of Strength - Acid Lake birds
  10. The Circus Train - Crownan
  11. Return to Thundera Part IV - Crownan
  12. Garden of Delights - Hallucinated bird in the Garden and snake-bird family
  13. Evil Harp of Charr-Ninn - Snake-bird
  14. Fireballs of Plun-Darr - Birds fleeing the burning forest
  15. Book of Omens - “Higher than the birds” bird at the Mountains of the Moon

WilyCub, you had the majority, so you’re up!

Thank you, “Zax”! Ok, here’s my question:

Name all the episodes in which Lion-O actually makes use of his Claw Shield and state what he used it for in each episode.

“The Mountain” - To climb up the mountain.
“Safari Joe” - To trick Safari Joe

I remember he used it once to show Mumm-Ra his reflection, but can’t remember which episode it was.

He did, you’re right, in The Unholy Alliance. Here are some more:

Trouble with Time – To scare away the lizarthon
Pumm-Ra – To reflect Slithe’s blasts from the ThunderTank
Fireballs of Plun-Darr – To repel down the side of the Lair
The Astral Prison – To scale the prison wall
The Thunder-Cutter – To slingshot the tree limb into Slithe’s Skycutter (right?)
Trapped – To grab onto Mumm-Ra’s cape
Turmagar the Tuska – To stop his fall from the Technopede’s neck
Mumm-Ra Lives! Part V – To show Mumm-Ra his reflection (It doesn’t work…)
Return to Thundera Part V– To hoist himself out of the chute beneath the Gyroscope
Frogman – To hoist himself out of the Churning Rocks

Well since there are no new replies, I’ll declare the winner. And the winner is … (drum roll) … “thezaxfactor” with the most correct answers! Well done.

A few others that I had in mind were:

Mandora - The Evil Chaser: to trip Burnout
Lord of the Snows: To climb Hook Mountain
Mongor: to see Mongor’s reflection

I also vaguely recall a dialogue by Lion-O going: “Grab the line, Wilykit! The line!” but I can’t quite remember which episode it was.

Your turn “Zax”!

“Grab the line, WilyKit! The line!” is also from Mongor:

New question time!

In what episodes do we see the ThunderCats seated for a meal, or a meal prepared?

I can think of five, maybe six. Tygra sneaking Silkyfruit in the woods (and similar snacking) doesn’t count.

Ah yes. Thanks for refreshing my memory, Zax and for the gorgeous Screencap as well!

I can only recall 4:

  1. “The Crystal Queen” when Snarf serves a little “too seasoned” meal.
  2. “Berbils” when they are all dining at the end.
  3. “Dr. Dometone” in the end when everyone is seated and Wilykat enters dressed as a shark.
  4. "Anointment Day 1: Trial of Strength" when Snarf has a hearty breakfast prepared for Lion-O.

Only a meal, or could it be a toast?

Check the toast in question. I believe there’s food on the table.

ETA: Also, I had forgotten about “Berbils”, so there are at least three more.

Then:

ThunderCubs part 1 - The TCs are celebrating Mumm-Ra’s “death” at the beginning ofg the episode.

I really want to give this to you, Tygra_Rules, but I can’t. Right circumstance, wrong five-parter… :frowning:
