I was thinking of Terror of Hammerhand and I thought Lion-O was the only one to close to the unicorns in that episode.
The other episode I was thinking of is the one where Tygra was testing out his new superfuel formula.

I forgot that Pumyra had freed a unicorn in “Together We Stand” although the the unicorn fled as soon as she was loose. 
Snarf was captured with the young one. When escaping from the Berzerkers, Panthro and Cheetara come to the rescue by saving the unicorn, Snarf, and Lion-O.
Funny. I’m a Tygra fan (as you all may know by now lol), and don’t remember him ever being close to a unicorn (I’d remember that as I love unicorns as well… gotta check my DVDs).
The ThunderKittens rode 2 unicorns at the beginning of Return of the Driller.

If I remember right, it’s either.
a) Lion-o and Benagli were fighting the Monster and turned them into moss figures, or
b) at the end, Bengali hooked the Feliner to the TC, and Snarf was asked to drive it to pull it over.
