As bad as the later episodes were they were never as bad as the comics. Not to mention the transforming Berbils that Panthro modified for war.

As bad as The Return was…
In The Dogs of War story arch, a race of dog people invade new Thundera, Ma-Mutt and Jackalman turn on Mumm-Ra and the Mutants. Lion-O has been aging rapidly compared to everyone else due to a spell from Mumm-Ra. The Berbils get slaughtered by the dog’s dino/lizard people slaves leading to the alliance of Mumm-Ra and Lion-O fighting side by side and at the end Mumm-Ra gives Lion-O the potion to age normally whilst after slaughtering countless Thundarians etc over the years Lion-O lets the Mutants go free and return to Plundarr.
This is is a cluster of bad.
