The decision to only include Donald Duck as a minor recurring character in the original was very deliberate, I read somewhere. I’m quite happy for him to have a larger part here but I don’t mind either way. As long as Scrooge and the boys, and others like Giro and especially Launchpad, have plenty of time in the spotlight I’ll be happy.
Interestingly the three nephews are getting different voices this time round, as opposed to the original where they and Webby were all voiced by Russi Taylor.
Donald has always been my favorite character. I always liked his appearances in the original “DuckTales” and am happy that he is getting some screen time in the new one. But I wish they had stuck with his blue colored outfit instead of the black shirt. Which made me notice that Scrooge’s outfit has been changed from blue to red, which was its original color in the Carl Barks comics. 
When I hear Scrooge, all I can think is ‘you’re David Tennant’. It takes me out of the cartoon. Maybe someone less high profile would have been better.
I know what you mean. I thought that when I first heard him as Fugitoid in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. But as that show went on he was really great as Fugitoid/Professor Honeycut.

I showed my daughter the trailer for the new series the other day. She made a face at me and said she liked the old one better haha. I guess I am raising the kids right. All joking aside I am looking forward to checking this out.
