That’s right, D’OH. For all my love of Bravestarr that slipped my mind. Although I didn’t see that episode or any other where they really mentioned another town. I really must get around to watching all of Bravestarr.
Pay attention to some of the characters in episode 9 as they do make another appearance.
Episode 9 was pretty good. Interesting, looking at the voice credits at the end, the pirate captain was played by Jack Angel, who was Uncle Zachary in Pole Position. Wow! I didn’t recognise him at all!
Also Jim Meskimen had a part too! Not a voice I’d recognise, but the name of course is familiar!
Jack Angel also voiced one of my favourite Transformers, Ultra Magnus.
Just watched another episode of C.O.P.S. - “The Case Of Big Boss’ Bye Bye” - in which Big Boss announces his retirement, with obvious consequences . . .
As a result, Bulletproof sets up as a Private Eye, and the writers had a bit of fun with that, giving him a Bogart-esque narrative, although they should have made Mainframe’s tights black in that scene - Bulletproof refers to her in his narrative simply as she - “when she appeared” - pronouncing the word to make her sound like a femme fatale. White tights just don’t support that image.
That does sound an interesting episode. I agree, white tights does not sound good.

When the budget cuts, coupled with Big Boss’ “retirement”, caused Mayor Davis to shut down the COPS, they went their separate ways; Mainframe got a job at a dating agency, Mace as a garbage cleaner, Highway stayed on the force as a regular policeman, Bulletproof became a PI. His monologue goes like this:
“It was my first day as a Private Eye. I had just moved into my new office. I was doing some deep . . . thinking, on a recent case - when suddenly, the door opened, and she stepped in. Her soft, sultry voice got my attention immediately.”
Now does that sound like something out of Raymond Chandler or Dashiell Hammett or what! Yes, I know, it’s such an easy style to pastiche, but hey, it worked!
I will have to have a watch of them sometime.
I do like some of those really old detective (film noir?) movies.
I think “film noir” is the American name for the genre.
But yes, in that episode, when Bulletproof sets up as a PI, you can see he wants to be Humphrey Bogart in that narrative.
Speaking of Bulletproof, our talk of Jack Angel before reminds me, Ken Ryan’s voice is actually sort of similar.
And speaking of Jack Angel who was in episode 9 of Avatar, I saw episode 10, good development for Sokka there. It’s a bit like episode 11 of the new Thundercats.
Episode 11 is a little slow. 12 and 13 are excellent. 14 is quite funny, but a little slow. 15 onwards are solid. And of course 18, 19 and 20 especially are great.
I got a bit further on the story yesterday; I’m just about to show all the Spectral Knights together for the first time in it; it started off with Ectar, Arzon and Cryotek running New Valarak alone while the others were on their way back from the southern cities; they have now arrived, although Ectar and Arzon were still out on patrol at that point, Arzon got back shortly after, and he and Witterquick waited for Ectar to return; he’s just done so, and the next scene features all seven of them for the first time in the story. The Darkling Lords haven’t had as much time yet - indeed, only three have been seen so far, Darkstorm and Mortdredd in the first scene in Heskedor’s cave, then Reekon and Mortdredd running amok in the village. Of course, there’s a reason for them taking a bit of a back seat at the moment . . . and that reason is, of course, they’re up to something . . .
Coincidently I finished my painting yesterday. And inspiration has struck for another piece. 
In fact for another few pieces, but you have to be in the right mind set and mood to really paint.
I want to do another piece based on The Last Unicorn. I am happy with the one I did but it feels very static and flat. I want to do one with more movement and life in it that really captures a scene from the movie/book.
I might start my idea that I had the idea for the character for the piece but I will probably wait until I have the character designs finalised.
It’s the same with writing songs. I could write a song in half an hour, but it probably wouldn’t be very good. I will sweat for days over individual lines to get them just right. The other week I was out on the walk, on a break on the way home, sitting down and just jotting down any old ideas for the pre-chorus sections of this song, but I wasn’t impressed with any of them. Then I went home, and literally as I walked in the door, one line came to me that I knew was just right for it.
I once read that the difference between writing a song with and without inspiration is like the difference between sailing a boat with the wind in your back and rowing the bloody thing. And that analogy is spot on.
Stories are different, I can usually come up with something, the precise wording isn’t always as important as it is with a song, because you’ve got more freedom of how many or few words you say something in.
Just watched episode 4 of Galaxy Rangers, Goose’ solo outing. When that woman gave her name as Annie, I got a horrible flashback to “Misery” . . .

That is so true. I did a painting once and I wasn’t in the mood, also it was oils and when I was in the mood I had to stop and let it dry then get back in the mood etc and the process took a few weeks. I got so feed up by the end I just did it roughly to get it finished. I was always unhappy with it.
Yet I done a dragon everyone thought was amazing and I was in the right mood and it was done so quickly people don’t believe it only took a few hours.
Well, I think I may have just sorted out that chorus. Yet another change of melody - this is the FIFTH idea I’ve had, and it “samples” bits from all previous ideas except the first one - but it sounds punchier, I’ve got a full set of lyrics for it, and on initial tests, it fits in with all three pre-choruses. Now I just need to try it out in a full performance of the whole song. But it’s looking like it’s good to go so far.
I am really excited about starting one of my next pieces.

I watched episode 11 of Avatar, and was pleased to recognise the voice of Rene Auberjonois as one of the warring tribesmen, as well as being Odo in DS9, he also had a guest voice in an episode of “Pirates Of Dark Water” which I got re-acquainted with almost a year ago. It was a fun episode, basically Lilliput all over again. Also, I remember an episode of Jayce And The Wheeled Warriors with that same premise, and I’m sure there’s other shows. I’ve no doubt Visionaries would have gotten round to it if they’d got another season.
Also, as today would have been Freddie Mercury’s 68th birthday, I marked the occasion by listening to Queen’s magnum opus, A Night At The Opera. I’ve recently started listening to their albums over again for the first time in a decade, and this was next on the list, after I listened to their weakest album of the 70s, Sheer Heart Attack, last night. Previously I’ve been leaving about a week between albums (listening to an audiobook in between), but on this occasion, I figured Freddie’s birthday deserved some tribute, and as his masterpiece was next on the list, why not! And it’s never sounded better. And I already thought it a pretty damn brilliant album to start with!
I didn’t know about Freddie’s Birthday.
The next two episodes of Avatar are VERY good.
Did you notice in almost all the main cartoons of the 80’s there was an evil doppelganger and the good guys can’t risk firing as they don’t know which is the real one.
Oh yes, I know all the birthdays, same with The Beatles. But yes, I listened to A Night At The Opera, I love it even more.

Or two characters swap bodies for a time. In Thundercats, Panthro got both of these, duplicated in “Spitting Image” and becoming Snarf in “The Shifter”.
DotE had “Flash Times Four” of course, Bunch & Cole’s best episode by a country mile, and one of the few Flash episodes that lived up to its potential.
I can’t remember what else off the top of my head. I remember Splinter and Shredder swapping bodies in an episode of TMHT, and Ren and Bloth in PoDW. Then of course I wrote a Visionaries fanfic “Foreign Eyes”, in which Ectar and Reekon swapped bodies.
