Whatever Wilycub does, I’ll be thrilled. Loving the mirror image idea. Loving the possibility of having Wilykit added one day (when you do that, would you mind updating Kat’s hair as I know Kit ended up with his stripe and he got different ones lol). I won’t mind if the new TC’s aren’t included (although I’d love it!) but that poster has always been incomplete for me because my favourite is absent

Not even the 1986-87 Lorimar-Telepictures prints of that iconic artwork included Kit.

I’ve always wondered why. It is rather curious why Kit is absent. I don’t think that her character had not been conceived when that poster was commissioned. It’s very likely that Kit and Kat were conceived together, so why only one of the twins was featured? :confused

I know that Kit was not one of the originally conceived characters. Kat was the only child character originally and I believe it was Jules who prompted that here was a need for another female character. It was at that point Kit came along and they decided to make the Wily’s twins. I believe this all happened very early in the process but I guess it was possible that this classic image was already in the works.

The first issue of ThunderCats Magazine from 1987 almost dupicated the original artwork, and Kit is included:

Ok I see. No Jaga or Mumm-ra to be had in that one. As nice as it is to see Wilykit in that picture it just isn’t quite the same as the iconic image.

Oh I didn’t know that. I always thought that the two twins were conceived together. Thanks for that interesting bit of info, adssse! It certainly explains Kit’s absence from the Classic poster.

It’s evident in the original show pitch, when all the character names are different (Jagu-R, Lion-L, Panth-R, Cheet-A, Tige-R, and Wiley-Kt) and the Eye of Thundera is called the Eye of Xanth!
