As far as I know, nobody named Dick or Richard Roberts worked on the show.
Jerry was suppose to attend the Comic Con, but he’s been working on a test scene for the movie (to be shown to the big wigs at WB) and it’s gone longer than expected. I was looking forward to meeting with him too. 
Don’t worry, man. Your keeping in regular contact with him and he and his wife are big fans of the website - so if he is going to give out tibits of information and such, we’ll probably be the first to get them and be able to report them.
Also, Dameon Clarke voice actor from shows like DBZ tested for the part of Slithe. Not sure if you guys are familiar with DBZ, but he voiced the character Cell.
I know. I’m a massive fan of the Dragonball/Z/GT franchise and I can tell you that he’s terrific - the voice he did for Cell is fantastic: the Funimation English dub of the Cell saga for Dragonball Z is really awesome and his Cell voice is just an example of that. Can’t wait to see whether he got the part for it or not.. it’s hard to replace Bob McFadden but it’s sure a good place to start. Anime voice actors are usually pretty good, anyway. 
After months of trying to contact my sources without any success, I finally got an email reply with the status of the movie…and it doesn’t look very good. It’s probably why they haven’t replied to any of my messages.
Unfortunately, my source didn’t specifically say if I was allowed to make this news public, but I resent a message asking just in case.
But just wanted to give a heads up with the team that the movie is on indefinite hold because of the economic situation and the unwillingness to take a chance on a franchise that may or may not make money.
Once I get the green light, I’ll share the email with you guys.

Gotta agree. Since literally no news has come out since it’s announcement (apart from bits and pieces), I’m not surprised. But yeah, have to agree that getting this news live would be a good thing just because we’d be the exclusive on that.
That’s too bad but not entirely unexpected. Wish it was otherwise but hopefully the fans can keep the interest levels high enough that in a few years they’ll reconsider.
I’m still waiting for a reply. I’ll write an article about it as soon as I get the green light.
There is some MAJOR news about the movie and I cannot believe we did NOT see this. My sources tipped me on an article on the MovieLine website in which several concept photos were leaked from Digital Domain. In response to these images, my source has given me a ton of additional information that I will be able to share with everyone.

The email I received is what I’ve been waiting for and the reason why I had not revealed to anyone outside of the team that the movie has been put on indefinite hold.
Now I have enough credible information to make all of this public.
With all the MOTUC information and tidbits about Mattel really WANTING the ThunderCats license, I think this has been the best news week for ThunderCats in years.
Hold on to your hats everyone…we are going to have an overload of information on the movie…when it was still in production.
EDIT: Just received another email. Source gave me a much higher-resolution of Lion-O without the watermark. I hope having the image without the watermark will make this info more credible.
Also, since the images were leaked and are now public, he is going to try and give us a description on the images. The more I look at these concepts, the more depress I get that the movie was put on hold.
If there was any doubt about my sources, the information I will be sharing should be enough to make us credible.

[I]Last week, MovieLine released several pieces of concept artwork believed to be linked to the ThunderCats movie. We can officially confirm that those concept pieces are the real deal.
We have all been waiting a long time for an update to the ThunderCats movie and unfortunately, the news we have to share is not good. According to our sources close to the project, the movie has been put on indefinite hold. Here’s what we know thus far:
Last summer the production team completed a two minute test sequence as well as a dozen concept art pieces which were presented to Warner executives. Jerry O’Flaherty, the director of the project was believed to present the work about six times to various executive groups within Warner Bros. including Jeff Robinov and Alan Horn.
In late September, Jerry O’Flaherty received word back from WB that the project had been “shelf” for now. The reasoning for shelving the project is unknown, however speculation is that the weak economy and poor box office earnings by Star Wars: The Clone Wars, another CGI-animated movie were the cause for putting the project on hold.
That being said, the concept artwork that was leaked last week through MovieLine did show that the movie was moving forward and what type of direction the project was heading.
We also heard that the two minute test footage that was shown to the WB executives featured a fully constructed Slithe model.
This is definitely not the news we were hoping for. In any event, we do have a higher resolution image of the concept artwork of Lion-O to share with everyone. If there is any additional information we can share regarding the movie, we will definitely be sure to post it.

This really sucks but you know what Im used to these type of news already so it is no shocker to me that they have shelved this project. Im not even excited at the new Thundercats statues because essentially they are still in prototype form. It wouldnt surprise me if that gets shelved as well.
Until I see them produced Im not holding my breath. There has been to many disappointments for me to take any news seriously anymore :mad:
There’s nothing that says the movie won’t get picked up again at some point. Often a studio will sell a partially developed concept to a rival studio too. I’ve not given up hope on this franchise. I also think that if/when He-Man gets made and is a success, WB will have to re-evaluate the ThunderCats movie. To compare T-Cats to Clone Wars is bogus in my opinion.

You had one spelling/grammar error where you said the project had been “shelf” for now. You should have said "put on the shelf for now, or “shelved” for now.
Thanks for pointing that out Mark. I got the thumbs up to publish it. I’m going to space out the information I was given though. I got some great info on the design choices of the artwork that was leaked such as why Lion-O looks the way he does, why Mumm-Ra’s pyramid is more like a ship, and the waterfall scene.
It’s an interesting perspective that fans may not like, but nonetheless it’s cool to know where the director and the production team were going with the movie. Sigh.
